UNS N06600 Flanges are corrosion-resistant components that are used in the making of welded joints. These flanges are made from nickel-chromium alloy and comprise a Weldneck Flange, Blind Flange, Socket Welding Flange, Slip Flange, and Threaded Flange. The advantage of using these flanges is that they provide excellent resistance to chloride ion-associated stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures.

The Machinability Characteristics of UNS N06600 flange
Along with good tensile strength at high temperatures, several machinability characteristics of UNS N06600 flange are exhibited. It has excellent cutting force and high cutting temperatures, which is 1.5 or 2 times larger than carbon steel. But when it faces severe wear and tear, it results in shorter life span. During machining, it exhibits serious work hardening. It also becomes very difficult to dispose the chips during this process.
Advantages of Using Alloy 600 Flanges
There are numerous advantages that alloy 600 flanges deliver which meet both basic and extreme industrial standards. Added advantage of providing excellent and prominent corrosion resistance than other grade, this material is also suitable for sulphuric and hydrochloric acid environments.
It is also known to have high tensile strength and good yield strength at annealing temperatures. But as soon as this material is exposed to high temperatures, it shows remarkable results. Also, it shows resistance to sea water and chloride stress corrosion cracking.
