Monel metal 400 polishing plate
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (nickel alloy 400) that has good heat and corrosion resistance, as well as high strength and weldability. Due to its relatively high nickel content, Monel 400 plate is often used in seawater, saline and alkaline environments. It has a low corrosion rate in free-flowing brackish or seawater applications. In addition, Monel 400 has excellent corrosion resistance in most freshwater conditions, as well as a wide range of non-oxidizing corrosive conditions. The alloy also performs well in cryogenic applications.
Monel 400 is a binary alloy of nickel and copper (with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon). The alloy has high strength, resistance to acidic and alkaline environments, good ductility, and thermal conductivity. Monel 400 is suitable for use in temperatures ranging from sub-zero to 1,000°F (538°C). It can only be hardened by cold working.
