Alloy 718 Oil and Gas Pipe
Inconel 718 oil and gas pipelines have become the core transportation solution under extreme working conditions with their unique nickel-chromium-niobium alloy system (Ni-52.5%, Cr-19%, Nb+Ta-5.1%). Through solid solution + aging heat treatment (ASTM B637 standard), the material maintains excellent corrosion resistance (resistance to H₂S/CO₂ corrosion and chloride stress cracking) while achieving ultra-high strength (tensile strength ≥1275MPa) and good low-temperature toughness (reliable service at -196℃). Its high temperature stability (long-term use up to 650℃) can cope with the ultra-high pressure and high temperature environment of deep well mining, and the optimized processing performance supports the precision welding of complex pipelines (ERNiFeCr-2 welding wire is required) and on-site cold bending. It is typically used in deep-sea oil and gas risers, high-sulfur oil well casings and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cryogenic transportation systems. Compared with traditional stainless steel pipelines, the service life is increased by 3-5 times, and it is particularly suitable for the demanding needs of acidic media, high stress fluctuations or polar environments.
