Alloy 690 Tube Inconel 690 Tube (UNS N06690) is a high chromium nickel-based alloy with excellent resistance to corrosion in a variety of aqueous media and high temperature atmospheres. It also has high strength, good metallurgical stability and excellent processing characteristics.

The alloy has the ability to resist sulfur-containing atmospheres and can be used as burner and furnace tubes for coal gasification units, sulfuric acid treatment, petrochemical furnaces, heat exchanger tubes, incinerators, and glass solidification equipment for handling radioactive waste. The alloy exhibits excellent low corrosion rate and stress corrosion resistance in various types of high temperature water, so it is widely used in steam generator heat transfer tubes, separators, tube sheets and nuclear power components.
Inconel 706 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that is a precipitation hardening alloy with high mechanical strength and good machinability. Its properties are similar to those of Inconel 718 alloy, except that it is easier to process, especially by machining. The large nickel and chromium contents provide good resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The main precipitation hardening components of this alloy are titanium and niobium. The aluminum element also provides a hardening reaction. The precipitation hardening system in it provides the useful characteristic of delaying the hardening reaction during precipitation temperature exposure. This characteristic provides the alloy with excellent resistance to post-weld strain-age cracking, and the high strength of the precipitation hardening is maintained at temperatures up to 1300'F. The excellent mechanical properties at the expected service temperature can be obtained by using one of two heat treatments.
