ASTM B167 Inconel 601 Seamless Steel Pipe

ASTM B167 UNS N06600 seamless pipes have excellent mechanical properties. Its chemical properties give this alloy high mechanical strength and good machinability. Due to the very good corrosion resistance of this alloy, Nickel Alloy SB 167 UNS N06600 pipes are mainly used in alkaline environments. As a high nickel alloy, these pipes are ideal for use in cryogenic environments and high temperature applications. What is special about ASTM B167 seamless pipes is that it resists corrosion in conditions containing highly corrosive compounds such as dry chlorine or hydrogen chloride. In fact, ASTM B167 seamless pipes withstand temperatures up to 650°C for these compounds. Chloride stress corrosion cracking is a problem that many stainless steel alloys often fail to solve, ultimately leading to the failure of the piping system. However, unlike stainless steel, this problem can be solved by using Nickel Alloy SB 167 pipes because of its excellent corrosion resistance. The high nickel content in the alloy used to produce Inconel 600 pipes gives it a certain degree of resistance to reduction. On the other hand, the chromium content in the ASTM B167 seamless pipe material gives it good corrosion resistance in weaker oxidizing conditions.
