Incoloy 800h

Incoloy 800H, also known as "Alloy 800H", is designated UNS N08810 or DIN W.Nr. 1.4958. Its chemical composition is almost identical to that of Nickel-Cobalt Alloy 800 except that it requires higher carbon additions, resulting in improved high-temperature performance. It has better creep and stress rupture properties than NiCo 800 over the 1100°F [592°C] to 1800°F [980°C] temperature range. Incoloy 800 is typically annealed at approximately 1800°F [980°C], while Incoloy 800H should be annealed at approximately 2100°F [1150°C]. Additionally, Alloy 5H has a coarser average grain size according to ASTM 800.

 

Incoloy 800H (UNS NO8810) Nickel-based superalloy usually contains n 15-25% chromium. Nickel content is 30-45%, with small amounts of aluminum and titanium. Compared with Incoloy 800 alloy, the carbon content is controlled from ≤0.1% to 0.05-0.1%, which better improves the strength of the steel. This alloy has high chromium content and sufficient nickel content, so it has high high temperature corrosion resistance and is widely used in industry. It has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride, low-concentration NaOH aqueous solutions and high-temperature and high-pressure water, so it is used to manufacture anti-stress corrosion cracking equipment. The corrosion resistance is better than that of general austenitic stainless steel and better than Inconel 600 alloy; in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant stress cracking equipment, it is better than Inconel 600 and Monel alloy 400.

Alloys 800H and 800HT are suitable for temperatures from 1100°F – 1800°F (593°C – 982°C) where creep and stress rupture failure are an issue. 800H is typically used at the lower end of the range, while 800HT is used at the upper end. Applications include structural components, furnace equipment, heat exchangers, petrochemical vessels and piping, and aerospace.
