GNEE Hastelloy C-276
Hastelloy C276 is a wrought nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of processing environments. It offers outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1040°C.
The high molybdenum content of Hastelloy C276 provides excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Due to the alloy's low carbon content, Hastelloy C276 is less prone to grain boundary precipitation in the heat-affected zone, thus maintaining its unique corrosion resistance even in the welded condition.
Hastelloy C276 is widely chosen for its resistance to wet chlorine gas, hypochlorites, and many other corrosive chemicals. It also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to strong oxidizing salt solutions such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride.
