Duplex Weld Neck Flange is the mixed microstructure of the ferrite and austenitic. It has well-improved strength over the other austenitic and ferritic steel grade. The duplex alloy has greater chromium and molybdenum content that gives the material the ability to resist general corrosion and oxidation. The balanced dual phase microstructure is combining the high strength with the good corrosion resistance ability, especially at the high chloride environment.

Duplex Weld Neck Flanges are excellent resists corrosion in brackish and marine water. Duplex flanges are prevents stress corrosion cracking and localized corrosion in oxidizing and reducing environments. Duplex Flanges are commonly used in acid treatment tubes, pipes, parts, oil distillation plants, bleach washers, high chloride, and marine water applications. Duplex flanges are not suitable where the temperature is above 300 degrees C. Molybdenum, and chromium content shows strength and increases pitting and consistent stress corrosion cracking resistance.
These flanges are high strength and ease of handling. On this alloy, heat treatment is done, due to this treatment improve hardness, toughness strength, and ductility of duplex weld neck flanges. These alloys have better heat conductivity and lower thermal expansion.
