Duplex 2304 Stainless Steel is a duplex stainless steel composed of 23% chromium and 4% nickel, used in most of the applications where 304 and 316 stainless steel are used.
The corrosion resistance of the 2304 alloy is similar to that of 316L.
Additionally, its mechanical properties, specifically the yield strength, are twice that of the 304L/316L austenitic grades. This characteristic allows designers to reduce the weight of products, especially when designing pressure vessels.
Compared to 304 and 316 austenitic steels, the 2304 alloy has a stronger resistance to stress corrosion due to its duplex microstructure, lower nickel content, and higher chromium content.
Duplex 2304 Stainless Steel Applications:

Pulp and paper industry (chip, chip storage tanks, black or white liquor tanks, classifiers)
Caustic soda solutions, organic acids (resistant to SCC)
